ArtePollino project starts with an ambitious and hardly feasible vision: trying to change, progressively during the years and through clear, concrete and qualified actions, the Lucania area of Pollino into a unique, precious place, an attractive area not only for the static beauty of its landscapes, but also for the dynamic abilities of its inhabitants to qualify and set off the environmental resources; a place where, on the base of the existing human and environmental values, a new and more effective balance can be found between nature, culture, social and economic development.
Art, especially high quality contemporary art, during the last decades often focused the attention on these themes looking for a difficult balance between beauty and everyday life. Drawing from the powerful and mysterious world of symbols, art is able to point some solutions, to express some considerations, to let us glimpse the leftover of this new utopia.
The hope is that ArtePollino project could give birth to a new model that conceives art as a decisive element to qualify the environment.
